Shona Hendricks

Shona is the former Head of Sport Science at the High-Performance Centre, University of Pretoria. She returned from Madrid, Spain, in 2013 where she completed her MBA in Sport Management with Universidad Europea de Madrid (Real Madrid FC).

She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Sport Science (MSc Med Sport Science) and she has also completed the NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) course.

Shona has worked in all national levels of Women’s Football from u17, U20 and Senior National Team (Banyana Banyana).  Shona’s current work and interest lies in endurance sport (running/triathlon) conditioning and sport science working with elite ultra-endurance athletes such as Caroline Wostmann (2015 Comrades Marathon &  Two Oceans winner).

Dr. Lora Giangregorio

Lora Giangregorio, PhD is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo, and a Schlegel Research Chair in Mobility and Aging.

She leads the Bone Health and Exercise Science Lab, or BonES lab. 

The BonES lab team leads research on physical activity for older adults and people with osteoporosis.

Dr. Giangregorio is a member of the Scientific Advisory Council for Osteoporosis Canada.

Dr. Giangregorio was on the leadership team that developed the 2020 Canadian 24-hour Movement Guidelines. She also led the Exercise Working Group for the 2023 Clinical Practice Guidelines for Management of Osteoporosis and Fracture Prevention in Canada.
