Today on Ask Coach Parry we talk more Comrades Marathon. The question was submitted by Jock Ferguson and it says:

" Hi coach Parry. I have achieved a qualification time of 3.24 and I am following the Bill Rowan training programme. My question is at what pace should I be running the marathons in the  training programme?

Lindsey: You are just under the 3.30. So basically you need to follow those pacing guidelines fairly closely.
You can afford to go slightly quicker than the guidelines on there, those are set at a 3.30 marathon. A 3.24 is close enough in that zone that I wouldn't really change the zones.

I would just train at the faster end. From the middle to the faster end rather than the middle to the slower end. If you follow the pacing as recommended you are not going to go far wrong.
